Illustrierter Beobachter – No 32 1931

This is an original copy of the Illustrierter Beobachter (Illustrated Observer), the NSDAP’s official weekly and highly illustrated publication covering party activities, ideology, culture and social events from a National Socialist point of view.

This issue from 1931 is in fair to good condition with some age-related tanning throughout, it is scuffed along some of its page edges and along the spine.

The cover illustration is an attack against France and a celebration of the Nazi hero and martyr Albert Leo Schlageter. Schlageter had been a member of the German Freikorps and been involved in acts of sabotage against French occupying forces. He was arrested and executed by French troops.

There are also cartoons inside by ‘Mjoelnir’ (Hans Schweitzer) who is best known for his illustrations and depictions of SA men in Goebbels newspaper, Der Angriff.
